Getting Sun-kissed in the Sunshine State!

Sun on our faces!  Wind in our hair!  Salty ocean smell!  We are beach people!

Pompano Beach in Florida is an easy access location with abundant parking in several locations along A1A.  While the pier is still under construction, there are plenty of sights to see while visiting.  We chose to access the public beach near the Marriott that does not offer restrooms but is a bit less crowded and has a higher concentration of kite surfers that the kids (and I) love to watch.

The waves on Pompano never disappoint and the kids loved getting tossed and rolled around in the shallow area of the waves.  The lighthouse offers an relaxing backdrop to an already picturesque beach.  We love Pompano!

Austin, TX

Austin is what started it all!  It is the birthplace of many things but most importantly ChewsYourFood!  While visiting my son, I found inspiration in the eclectic and vibrant food environment that Austin houses and felt that I needed to share my opinion with others!

I have spent too many years literally inhaling my food while my small children threw theirs on the floor.  Too many years without taste or enjoyment.  Too many years lacking in quality and overwhelming in calories.  I’m making a commitment to savor these flavors that cross my taste buds and I want the world to know just how good it is!

Below are just some of the foods that started it all!  Credit is due to those who literally make culinary an art rather than just a consumable.  I give special credit to those who have amazing presentation and have healthful options, because while I enjoy an artistic flare, my taste buds enjoy the flavor!  Flavor does not need to mean a high caloric intake!  Health has to take a front seat for me now.  No more shoveling in my food.  No more bad choices……well, maybe sometimes.  But thank you to those who make healthy eating look and taste amazing!
